One thing I always do when on these trips is remember those who died and here are a very few as symbols of the many.



There were many different nations involved:

   

And this area had seen fierce fighting just over 20 years before:



This is the Canadian memorial for 1914-1918, the Weeping Soldier



And the cemetery for WWII

 

Part of the Dunkirk War Memorial to the missing - chosen because of the family name, although probably not a relative



This glass etching commemorates the evacuation from Dunkirk in 1940

You took some beautiful photos of these memorials. I'm obviously a bit biased, but I find the Canadian memorial really moving. I really like that glass etching commemorating Dunkirk as well.
