The Friday Five: Meetings
Jun. 9th, 2023 04:31 pm1. How many meetings do you have this week? Let's count classes as meetings.
I'm retired, so there are fewer meetings. This week I had one, last week three, the week before two.
2. How many of those meetings are in-person (as opposed to online or by telephone)?
Two in-person, four online. Of the online ones two involved people from the States and one (my course) involved some from Europe, so none of them would have happened if they weren't online.
3. Is anything actually accomplished during the meetings you attend?
Most of them yes. One of them has evolved into a group of friends chatting, so generally we put the world to rights. The two in-person were necessary to bring together all the bits of who's doing what when and much more effective than grabbing a few minutes to chat and sending various emails.
4. Do you enjoy the meetings you attend?
On the whole yes. One feels like a waste of time, but I attend to support others.
5. Do you do anything special to keep yourself entertained during long, boring meetings?
Since the boring ones are normally online I check my emails on my phone.
