Having introduced my favourite characters from the Sherlock Holmes stories, I'm continuing with some of my favourite genres and 'verses, beginning with case fics. I do enjoy writing case fic, taking a puzzle and having Sherlock Holmes solve it, using his own particular talents, while at the same time including contributions from Dr Watson, with his complimentary abilities as well as the various Scotland Yard detectives.
Holmes examined the corpse and declared that, contrary to initial presumption, the man had not been killed where he was found. A preliminary consideration of the body provided details of the man’s probable occupation as a clerk, and with Holmes’ knowledge that there had been a daring robbery that night, the likelihood was the dead man had been a bank clerk. A further examination of the soil on the man’s shoes and Holmes was able to give Lestrade a good idea of where the gang had their hideout. A quickly organised raid, the gang were arrested, and the money found.
