So much to do, so little time ...

smallhobbitWork, at the moment, is proving difficult. I have too many pieces of paper to deal with, so I shoved them all in one folder and stuffed them in my desk drawer overnight. They'll probably have bred by the time I get in tomorrow morning.
As usual, things wouldn't be so bad if people could do their jobs properly. For instance, we had to send out rent increase notifications by today. What time did I receive the final confirmation of the amount of increase? 9.30 this morning. By 10.30 I had the agent on the phone asking how things were going - I wasn't there to speak to her. She had promised to ring this morning, so I'd agreed a time when I knew I would be at a play meeting. Did I mention the shadow puppet play? I'm involved with that too.
Last week the decorators were in and painted over the intumescent strips on the door frame. For those of you who aren't involved with building maintenance, these are the strips that block smoke if a building catches fire. Strangely enough they don't work if they are covered in paint. At least the carpet layer did a good job.
Wednesday afternoon I have a finance meeting, for which I'm probably supposed to have finished preliminary work on the budget documents. But tomorrow morning I have to do a health and safety induction for a new Chinese volunteer. And tomorrow afternoon there are pancake races.
If only I could finish the relatively quick task I started last week. That's right - the one that was only going to take a couple of hours.
