We've finished Brownies for this term - the schools continue for another week, but with so many parties/concerts etc it's simpler for us to finish earlier.  Also we don't have to contend with 20 mega-excited girls.  It was slightly sad, because two of the Brownies who have been with us for the last three years are moving onto Guides.  On the plus side, one of them gave each of the leaders a large box of chocolates.

For our penultimate meeting, and our Christmas celebration, we went to Frankie & Bennys.  We had one long table of excited Brownies and for once, perhaps not surprisingly, all 21 turned up.  They all enjoyed themselves, although we found it rather tiring.  Unlike last year, when the staff had been excellent, this time they were slow producing the food and we were left to do the drinks ourselves.

This year we seem to have a number of very pushy girls and I reminded a few of the beginning of the Brownie Law "A Brownie thinks of others before herself", which means I am not going to get your drink before the others have theirs just because you shout louder.  Others, however, are very polite, which is nice.  As an aside, I was helping with Experience Christmas at church this week, and when I asked "Why do we do these things?" one girl said "I'm a Brownie, and I have to do a good turn every day."

And so to our final meeting, in which we constructed snowmen out of icing, marshmallows, liquourice and sweets.  All good fun and very sticky - once again I think I got stickier than the girls.  There were numerous cries of "the arms have fallen off" or "he's falling over".  I have to admit that I failed to get my buttons (made of skittles) to stick, so I turned them into boots instead.
