I only had one day out of the office
Mar. 19th, 2014 11:15 pmThis is really an apology post to all those people who have commented on my last couple of posts and who I haven't replied to. I am getting there, really. It's just that a weekend away plays havoc with getting things done - normal, boring things, like doing the washing and making sure I do have clothes for work, and catching up on emails etc. Plus, if I didn't do blog posts of the weekend I'd have forgotten by the time I came to write them - brain meet sieve - what you mean they look similar? And then there were the trials of the daughter's car insurance, not that I was expected to do anything, except listen and make the appropriate grunt at times (there is a different between grunts of disbelief and appreciation and it is important to use the right one at the right time.)
As for work - I had Friday off and therefore expected a bit of catching up would be required. Get greeted by boss "Can I have the February figures by lunchtime?" Me, having checked emails "I haven't got all the information yet." Final details arrive an hour and a half later. Figures (hopefully accurate) are delivered fifteen minutes before lunch - they were for the council meeting held this afternoon and needed to be sent to the trustees on Monday. Tuesday morning was spent catching up on stuff I didn't do Monday, before we had a panic which resulted in me rushing up to the bank just as I was about to go home. And then this morning was our AGM which I somehow managed to go to, despite not intending to. At least the sandwiches were good.
I've also typed up the end of my ACD Holmesfest fic, finished on the train, which has gone to beta. And written two short fics for a couple of friends. One of which is Recuperation which is Guy of Gisborne/Much. I realise this is more of a rowing boat than a ship, but I'm the one with the oars.
