I'm amazed!  A friend tweeted about tickets being on sale at lunch time, so I found the link hurried to the site and bought two Saturday matinée tickets.  Then told SM he could have one if he wanted to come.  He likes Benedict Cumberbatch so he's coming with me.  I'd resigned myself to not being able to see it (and I'm not that keen on cinema broadcasts) so I was delighted.  And they're not too ridiculously priced.

Which means August is now theatre month.  What do you mean you thought that was how July went?  John Simm and Mark Gatiss in Three Days in the Country, Ben Whishaw in Bakkhai, Volpone at Stratford (not sure who's in that, SM and I independently thought we'd like to go) and now Hamlet.

It's ridiculous how quickly some productions sell out - especially when you're limited to the Saturday matinée.  I booked to see Husbands and Sons at the National using my phone when I was in London.  By the time I'd got home that performance was sold out (and I have advance booking membership - £15 per year very well spent).

Have I ever mentioned how much I like going to the theatre?
