I've just totalled up my word count for 2017, to find I've written 184,608 words.  Which is rather astounding. That's 18,000 words more than last year.  And yet, when I think about my goal for next year, I've decided I'm going to stick with 150,000.  That feels like a good unpressurised target, which will still require regular writing, but allows for days, or even weeks, when little can be done.

I've also topped the 100 badges for [community profile] fan_flashworks  having reached 101 this year.  Although, to be fair, the last two of those are for other media, which involved photography and cakes.  In total there were another 17 badges, which included the Collector for all the prompts, the three year unbroken stretch and 200 posted works.

Kudos-wise this year my top five fics are all The Hobbit.  And the only other fandom which makes it into the top eight is a Lewis fic Summer Postcards.  So once again, write hurt/comfort or fluff in a popular fandom with a popular pairing and you get noticed.

Lengthwise, my longest fic, and my longest fic ever was Watson 1918: A Study in Recuperation which I'm still very pleased with.  Other than that the only fic over 10,000 words was my Call the Midwife SFBB Answering the Call.

Looking ahead, I have my current Grantchester SFBB to finish.  And the Lewis casefic I mentioned this time last year should finally be finished in February.  I also want to write the third part of Happy Families which is the Hobbit AU I'm writing based on Gen Bingo prompts.  Plus all the usual challenges, so plenty to keep me occupied.
