Last week we took the Brownies to Cattle Country, which has a large converted barn with mega slides, a ball pit, huge climbing frames etc.  We joined with another Brownie pack, so there were roughly 50 girls all running round shouting.  They had a great time; I was glad to get home.  Only two of our Brownies fail to come: one we're a bit doubtful about - she was enrolled the previous week, but her mother hasn't bought her any uniform, wanting to make sure she will continue (that's fine for the first few weeks, and we encourage that there are girls who come for a few weeks and then decide it's not for them which is fair enough and uniform is expensive; but come for three months and get enrolled, that's another matter).  However, she's one of those children who's only happy when doing what they want to do, which is so contrary to the Brownie ethos of doing things others like doing too, that she may well not come back next term.  The other missing girl was one of our keen regulars, but (as we thought might be the case) we found out her mother had had her baby that day.

This week we had Christmas crafts - a popular topic this time of year wit Brownie packs around the country!  They made Christmas tree ornaments, simple coloured card strips stuck to a lolly stick and then decorated to look like a Christmas tree.  After which they were given free range to make other Christmas decorations from our selection of craft material.  A nice simple craft which still took some of them a long time.

We finished with one more enrollment, which means we now have a full pack of 25 enrolled Brownies.
