Writing - August 2020
Aug. 29th, 2020 01:09 pmFar fewer words this month, only 9.5K, but I'm not worried, there's been less on my 'to write' list and I've recently finished some major projects. By the end of the month my year-to-date figure will be around 125K, so I'm easily ahead of where I need to be for my 150K goal.
First off, I posted my WIPBigBang fic: The Body Beneath The Blossoms (Lewis casefic) with the beautiful book cover art by
kat_lair
The Rare Male Slash Exchange went live. I wrote A Good Idea at the Time which is Person of Interest Reese/Fusco. There was initially a problem with this: I had just picked up the PoI pinch hit when my assignment came through with the identical recipient and exactly the same pairing/prompt as for the pinch hit. At first I wasn't sure what to do, but my recipient was so positive about my first story that I wrote a second, which they were equally pleased with, although they suspected it was the same author, and were positive about the thought. Meanwhile I received Make A Guy Feel Special which is lovely. I had a feeling it was written by someone I'd received fics from before and, you've guessed it, turned out to be the person I'd written my original Exchange of Interest fic for.
I also took part in The Prince Regent's Birthday Regency/Victorian Flash Exchange (aka PrinnyFlash) and wrote Lady Lounds Ball which is Hannibal (TV) Will Graham/Hannibal Lecter and which, surprisingly for me, I rated mature. In return I received Tea Sets and Empty Chairs which is set in Alice in Wonderland and looks at Hatter's insanity in a sympathetic way.
This month's
whatif_au challenge was the Natural Disaster AU, so I wrote This is Bilbo Baggins, for the Six O'Clock News.
I also completed the last of my
inspiring_tables being 25 tropes from the ultimate tropes table. There Must Be Fifteen Ways to Meet Your Lover Unsurpringly, this is Spooks Lucas/Adam. My full list can be found here
And for the same pairing I completed
story_works Amnesty challenge Love Springs Forth which is four chapters working through the relationship from initial meeting, to retirement in a westcountry market town.
