Writing - February 2023
Feb. 27th, 2023 03:30 pmThis has been a very good month for me, with just over 14.5K words, and with a few drabbles yet to write I might even reach 15K, either way I shall have at least 26.5K for the first two months, which is well over what I expected.
I began with yet another Hamlet fill for a
whatif_au challenge - this time it's Pygmalion (statue coming to life) King Hamlet's Statue
threesentenceficathon continued to play a part in adding words, especially as I was being left specific prompts, which resulted in Well, What Did You Expect a Discworld fanfic.
This month there has been a Small Fandoms Drabblethon at
small_fandoms One hundred word fills for fandoms with less than 100 works on AO3. So far I've written 24, in various fandoms, posting separate standalone chapters within each fandom: The Midnight Bell Valentine's at the Midnight Bell ; Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty Various Conversations ; Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake Dear Diary ; The Red House Mystery Quick Cases and I'm hoping to finish with a few from The Car Man.
story_works had a Romance Challenge, so I wrote another story in my Spooks Love in All Seasons series: Valentine's Then and Now
allbingo had a number of romance cards, and I selected the Language of Flowers prompts, but ended up with an interesting selection of flowers, most of which would not have been welcomed by a lover: The Case of the Yellow Carnation
And, lastly
ushobwri had their annual WiP month's challenge for which I dusted off Ocean Café, wrote 4,200 words, brought in a selection of awkward fae from Sleeping Beauty, and still have to finish. My aim is to have it finished for
crackthewip at the beginning of May.
