Once more unto the stickiness

Yes, we're back at Brownies after the half term break.  Last week was games night, which seemed to go well.  And with a bit of careful negotiating the same girls didn't win all the games.  Some girls are quicker so it's inevitable they will do better, but most games have an element of maneuverability so at least we can spread the winners out a bit.  And some games don't have any winners, which is a plus.

This week was a craft night.  A simple craft, because that's all we do.  Take one hefty glass tumbler.  Apply scraps of yellow, orange and red tissue paper to the outside with pva glue.  Insert electric tea light.  A pretty seasonal ornament.  Alternatively, send home sticky decorated glass and tea light separately and leave parents to put the two parts together.



A slightly different group of girls come to the fore here, which is good.  They all got quite sticky though!

I'm in the process of setting up a Facebook group for the parents, so we can send out reminders and also give them a bit more of an idea of what we're doing.  I'm currently waiting to see if it works.

The tea lights do look very pretty. I think one of the better elements of Facebook are the community groups that keep people in the loop for their organisations. It's a good way to ensure that everyone knows what's going on without having to send out individual updates.

We thought it would be a good idea. We'll still send out notes, but we can post reminders, and pictures of things the Brownies have made.

Ahhh! Glue! Sticky! They probably liked the mess. You get a gold star for doing that.
Now that I'm looking at the craft a little longer, I have two little boys who would get into making that sort of mess. Hmmm...

It's quite an easy thing to do - and you'll only have two to watch. We had 14 sticky objects ;)

OK, tried it with the boys. Yah, you get serious kudos for keeping track of 14 sticky objects. My 1.5 objects (Mr Three only painted half of his jar) was enough stickiness for me.

At least our sticky objects are slightly older, and therefore probably each slightly less sticky ;)
