Bridlington and Sewerby Hall
Jun. 1st, 2019 12:58 pmWe started our break in Yorkshire at Bridlington, which is on the coast. It managed to rain quite a lot of the time we were there, but the sun came out the day we left.

We visited Sewerby Hall, which was originally owned by a local family, but is now in the possession of the local council. The rooms have been set out as they would have been about 1910. I've no pictures from inside, because it felt more like a museum than a home (many of the pieces are on loan from the V&A), and for various reasons I'm not a great fan of the Edwardian era. It does have some lovely gardens though.

And some beautiful bushes. The one on the right is a Weigela, and I instantly decided I want to have one in our back garden.

They also have a mini zoo, with penguins.

From there we went to Flamborough Head and saw all the seabirds nesting on the cliffs. I did a couple of sketches, but failed to take any photos.
