This month I've completed two FutureLearn courses.  The first was Working Lives in the Coal Mines: Mining History and Heritage by the University of Strathclyde.  This is the second in their three course series.  It was interesting, although perhaps not so much as the one on the railways, but that's purely personal preference.  And I definitely intend to visit the Big Pit in Wales.

The second course was Understanding Money: the History of Finance, Speculation and the Stock Market by the University of Southampton.  The only reason I took the course was because it was the only one which would fit between coming back from holiday and another course I've signed up for.  I'm not particularly interested in finance as a subject, although the historical side tied in with areas I've read about in the past.  It didn't seem to be a very popular course, so I commented rather more often that I would do on a popular course.  What was interesting was thinking through my own viewpoint on various financial matters and having to articulate it, which was a very good exercise.

And meanwhile my cross stitch continues to grow:

I'm so impressed by your continuing use of FutureLearn - and trying new subjects, even if they are perhaps not immediately your thing. I am so behind with the Frisian course ^^" Partly my own fault but I think it was just unfortunate timing. Trying to keep up with work, Dutch, and Holmestice, WAdvent and Yuletide - I think I may have overreached myself. But I've enjoyed the course so far, and I've still got time to catch up.

Your cross stitch is looking beautiful - you really have made an impressive amount of progress.
