Language help required
Feb. 20th, 2020 05:14 pmI'm doing the talk (sermon) in church in just over two weeks time, and I wanted to use a slide showing the words for "Our Father" (the beginning of the Lord's Prayer) in different languages, because this is the universal prayer of the Christian church.
I can't find one, so I shall have to create my own, which is okay, but I was hoping that some of my flist would be able to provide the words in languages they speak. I could simply google, but there's always a risk I'd pick up the wrong thing.
All I want is the two words, or equivalent, which say: Our Father. Any help would be appreciated!

Date: 2020-02-20 07:47 pm (UTC)The two dots on top of the ä's are significant; in Finnish, ä is a completely different letter/sound from a. And I'm fairly sure that's the capitalization; Finnish doesn't capitalize non-personal names as much as many other languages do, so I'm pretty sure just the I in the beginning is capitalized.
(Disclaimer: am not a Christian and haven't attended religion classes or Sunday school, but it's kind of easy to pick up these things anyway.)
