Local walks (Part 1)

Had everything been as expected I'd be posting pics of the trip The Daughter and I were taking to explore the D-Day beaches.  As it is, instead for the next few days, I shall be posting pics of my local walks.

Today there are views of the canal (Gloucester to Sharpness canal) which was built in the 1820s.

I am so sorry you're missing you're holiday but those are lovely photos. I hope you are enjoying your time outside. I especially like #5.

We've rebooked to go this time next year.

Thank you. It's not the most scenic of canals - and the skies have been grey quite a lot of the time.

Lovely pictures. I'm really enjoying other people's nature photographs - I can't personally walk far enough to see anything much. When the weather is nice I have our garden, so I'm not going to go stir crazy, but it's still very heartening to see posts like this!

We're fortunate in that we're so close to the canal, despite being on the outskirts of a city. I'm glad you like the photos - there'll be some more over the next couple of days. And no doubt more again in a few weeks time!

I'm sorry you're missing out on a holiday, but these pictures are beautiful. (Funnily enough I was watching just this morning the The Two Fat Ladies cooking for a family who work on the canals in Wales!)

Did you have warm weather for your walk? It is sunny but chilly here.

The photos were taken on different days. Today, like you it was sunny but still chilly.

I'm sorry that you aren't exploring the D-Day beaches at the moment, but your pictures of the canal are beautiful! The ones with the dark clouds are quite moody and atmospheric. I'm looking forward to those future posts that will cover your other local walks. :-)

I'm glad you like the pictures of the canal. I was hoping for some decent cloud pictures - although picture 4 was shortly before the clouds shared some of their content with me ;)

It's awful not being able to do the things that were planned, but lovely that you have such a picturesque places to walk. Your photos are really nice, especially the last one with the trees.

Those clouds are really working it for the camera ^___^ Like other commenters, I really like no. 5 - lovely composition.

Yes - the clouds were quite impressive on some days. It's not a particularly scenic part of the canal where we are, but there are odd places where it makes quite a good picture.
