June Something: Days Twelve to Fifteen
Jun. 15th, 2020 05:32 pmDay 12: What is something you consider headcanon that was never truly resolved in canon?
My Spooks characters remain alive. Similarly in the Hobbit.
Apart from keeping my characters alive, in ACD Sherlock Holmes Dr Watson and Inspector Lestrade move in together, and Watson never has a second wife. And yes, I can still write Holmes and Watson in happy retirement in Sussex together.
Day 13: What is something you think fandom, as a whole, needs? Either literally, like a service, or figuratively, like a 'head slap'.
To learn not to be entitled. I write for myself, I don't write to satisfy your needs. (Obviously if it's an exchange or gift fic that's different.) And therefore I will write the characters as I see them, in whatever form I wish to write at the time - because I may not always write them in exactly the same way - one of the beauties of fandom is that one can experiment.
Day 14: Watch this video [Ronan Keating - Superman] (or just read the lyrics). What pairing does this song remind you of and why?
It doesn't work for me at all.
Day 15: When it comes to writing or art, what is your source for ideas/inspiration? Do you just brainstorm? Rely on talking to others? Workshop? Or do you hang out in prompting communities?
As a drabble/ficlet writer I do like prompting communities and belong to several. Otherwise, my brain has a storm - how else do you account for the Ocelot in a tutu, the Ferret, Poley the Moley et al. Generally I think the best description would be two steps forward, one giant leap sideways.
