Craft - Month 11
Mar. 28th, 2021 12:45 pmAs well as crafts I've done in online classes, I've done plenty by myself.
I finished my own hat, with the Klimt pattern and began one for the daughter, who sent me the wool:

I knitted my mother bees for Mother's Day and a sunflower for her birthday:

I've knitted the first of the Easter egg cosies - this one will be going in the post to the daughter:

And my William Morris cross stitch is now more than 80% completed:

Date: 2021-03-28 12:07 pm (UTC)Your hat looks amazing, and I like the wool for your daughter's. I'm assuming you're using a different pattern for this one.
The bees, sunflower, and chick are all very cute, and you're so close to finishing your cross stitch!
Do you have your next cross stitch picked out yet?

Date: 2021-03-28 12:15 pm (UTC)I was pleased with the way the hat turned out. I'm using a 2k2p rib for the daughter's, since there's no point in having a pattern with that wool.
I was given a sampler cross stitch pattern for Christmas by a friend, plus the threads and fabric, so I'm planning on doing that. I've also just received a cross stitch kit with a swan and cygnets as a retirement present from my job, so that will be the one after. The sampler is white fabric, the swan is dark green fabric, so I fancy a change from dark materials.

I don't blame you, stitching on dark fabric is a strain on the eyes, although the results can be very striking.

The William Morris cross stitch looks AMAZING! You've done an excellent job with it!

Date: 2021-03-29 08:42 pm (UTC)The embroidery reminds me of the tapestry covers on antique cushions. Lovely!
