The Friday Five: Big Questions

This week's answers to thefridayfive 

1. If you could spend 24 hours locked in a room with anyone, from any time in history (including present) or a fictional character, who would you choose?
Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.  She'd be extremely practical and have lots of interesting tales to tell.

2. Is there any one question you consistently ask everyone important to you?
'Can I get you a drink?' has to be the most consistent - or 'I've just put the kettle on, what would you like?'  Obviously not relevant over the phone, but if you're looking for a generic answer this is the closest I can get.

3. If you had to choose one personally important question to never have the answer to, what would it be?
What's it like having done everything you wanted to do?  Because I always want to find there are other new things to try.

4. If you could change one life-changing event in your life, would you?
No.  The problem with altering life-changing events is that you never know how the alternative would have turned out.

5. Which household chore do you hate the most, and why?
Ironing. I stopped doing it at the beginning of the pandemic and haven't started again.

I do hope one day you'll be able to put the kettle on FOR ME.

#3 is a very sage answer.

I am with you on #5. I only iron when Minor has a concert, church function, or other important event to attend.

Not having kids at home makes life easier. When the son moved out he said he'd do his washing, but bring his ironing home. I bought him an iron.

One of these days I'm going to start doing the Friday Five, I swear! :)

And dang, how can you limit that first question to a single person? I guess if I had to, I'd probably choose someone like Nina Simone or maybe Michaelangelo. Both were amazing in their own right, though because I'm so enraptured by her music, Nina Simone would probably win out.

Maybe you could have several days with one person per day.

I do it when the questions appeal - which means I can think up suitable answers.

I buy nothing that needs to be ironed. It's a rule at our house! :D

I used to iron work shirts, but that became irrelevant, so I stopped.

I have an iron and an ironic board that will still be in pristine condition two decades from now. Honestly, I've just given up on the entire idea of ironing.
