Hammered Flowers

Yesterday's Dare to Dabble was hammered flowers.

We began with a fabric bag, a piece of fabric and a hammer.  It was quite funny seeing all these apparently respectable ladies removing hammers from their bags.



We then took some flower heads and leaves, which were placed on the fabric bag and covered with the piece of fabric.



The flowers were then hammered firmly, before the fabric was removed and the remains of the flower scraped away.



I wasn't entirely convinced with this quarter of the bag, so I used a Sharpie and added some details:



We continued on, making patterns with different flower heads:



Until we were satisfied with what we had produced:



Which left the reverse to be completed.  I decided a more cartoonish picture was called for.



Rather a noisy session, but a pretty outcome.

Wow. This is completely new-to-me but the end result is really nice. I love it. It's great that you're getting a taste of so many new ideas with Dare to Dabble (of course I always read it 'dare to drabble' but that's another pounding with a different hammer, no?)

New to me, too. I really enjoy trying different crafts, most of them are fun, although I wouldn't do them regularly.

Dare to drabble is different but can be just as challenging 😄
