Crafts - June 2022
Jun. 28th, 2022 05:10 pmThe cross stitch of Tenby harbour is progressing well, and should be finished next month:

In addition I stitched a bookmark for a friend's birthday

and a birthday card for The Daughter's birthday

From now on I will be more knitting. We saw son and family a couple of weeks ago and I mentioned that if Mini Hobbit would like something knitted for Christmas then I would need to start soon to allow myself plenty of time. The instant request was for a turquoise cardigan with a mermaid on it. Fortunately the website where I order my yarn from had a sale the following day, so I promptly ordered the yarn and have made a start.

I have completed two more squares for my throw (London and Peking):

I don't know how you manage to get so much crafting done in a month!

I do much less writing than I used to do, and don't tend to watch much television, preferring to stitch/knit.

Date: 2022-06-28 05:54 pm (UTC)I always start with the backs of things, so I can get the length right. I hope the mermaid won't give you too much trouble!
I'm writing less than I used to, but the garden is taking up time and I'm trying to read more... I just can't seem to fit crafting in at the moment. I've been thinking of maybe parting with some of my cross stitch kits, because I'll never get them all stitched. I can't even get around to starting one.

Date: 2022-06-28 06:01 pm (UTC)The mermaid looks reasonably straightforward. I'm planning on having a blue wavy line at the bottom for waves.
There's only so much time in each day. I find that some days I do more knitting and some days more cross stitch, depending on my mood and whether I need to get something finished.

I have trouble getting up in the morning and getting going, then in the evening I'm still sorting and labelling files on my computer, clearing out duplicates while I watch TV. Too many things to do, no enough hours in the day =(
