smallhobbit | Writing - January 2023

I finally decided that my annual goal would be 115K words as being a bit more of a stretch than 100K, and about on a par with 2022.

And so far so good - this month I've written 10.5K words and there are a few days left.

I began by posting my response to

whatif_au 's carnival/circus challenge: Dane Brothers Circus which proves yet again that you can do almost anything with Hamlet!

My main writing this month was for

allbingo 's Public Domain Day challenge. I had a 3x3 square of Sherlock Holmes prompts and therefore wrote ACD Holmes fic. Originally I had planned to write 3 short 3 chapter stories, in different 'verses, but The Case of the Fiancé's Foot kept growing and in the end ran to eight chapters. I finished up with a retirement era ficlet An Unexpected Reminder.

I have written a ficlet for

candyheartsex but reveals aren't until next month. And I've been taking part in

threesentenceficathon which all helps add to the wordage.
