I am by no means a fan of weapons, but their existence cannot be denied and therefore these are photos of some of the guns and examples of the rockets used by the Germans in WWII.  It's a sobering reminder that even more powerful weapons are in use today.

V1 rocket launcher

V2 rocket and bunker.  Wernher von Braun, the inventor, was able to go to the United States as the Americans valued his technical ability.

By contrast, at the AtlankicWall Raversyde there were some animated films, included one by Ukrainian film maker Leonid Tyvoniuk, aimed at children. It explains what to do in case of a bomb alert and  aims to help children cope with stress and anxiety. It's an excellent little film, acknowledging how children will feel and reassuring them as far as possible.

Old war material from WWII is very disconcerting.

Once again, a very interesting post with some great photos. It's frightening to think that we now have weapons that are even more powerful than the ones in the photos.

If I'm not mistaken Wernher von Braun went on to play a pivotal role at NASA.

It's good that there was a film about bomb alerts that was aimed at children. WWII was terrifying enough for adults, so I can only imagine how traumatic it would have been for kids.
