Goals for 2023/24
Apr. 8th, 2023 03:28 pmI like to set my goals in April of each year and therefore it's time to take a look at what I shall choose for the coming year. At the beginning of the year I decided that this year's goals should be rather more tangible, since the current year's goals are fairly vague. I'm still not entirely convinced but they are my goals, so I can adjust them as I go through the year.
I've been following FutureLearn courses for a few years now, and during this time they've become much tighter in the time available for the course when the free option is used. Initially there would be the number of weeks allocated to the course plus two weeks. This was reduced to just the number of weeks, but with all weeks available from the beginning, which gave a certain flexibility to do some in advance. However now there's a strict limit as to when the next week can be started. I have 13 courses on my 'watch list' of which I'm currently taking two, and I would like to complete all of them within the next year. So,
Goal No 1 - To complete all FutureLearn courses on my Watch List
There may be extra new courses which I shall also follow, but those I shall aim to take when they are introduced.
I've been looking at other Leger Battlefields tours I would like to do, and have four which particularly appeal. Three of those I shall do with The Daughter, so timing is dependent on her, and the fourth is something she's not interested in. However, simply looking at the brochure is not sufficient and therefore:
Goal No 2 - To reduce the number of Leger Tours on my wish list by this time next year, either by having been on then or by having booked them.
I first starting goal setting in April 2014, which means this is my tenth year of setting goals, which definitely surprises me. One thing I have found useful is to have one goal with a specifically monthly aim and also something slightly outside my usual activities.
Goal No 3 - To do something slightly different each month
I'm deliberately keeping this rather vague to allow for a variety of activities.
