Rec us your newest thing

This year I've decided to use some of the questions stonepicnicking_okapi has created on a semi-regular basis and which I'm tentatively calling Three Questions and here are my first three answers:

2 Jan: World Introvert Day: How introverted are you? Does it change based on your surroundings?
I'm definitely an introvert, although many who know me in real life are surprised when I tell them. Yes, I talk to people, I even give talks in front of groups, but that's all the clothing I put on. Too many for too long and I retreat.

6 Jan: Sherlock Holmes’ Birthday: If you have one, what’s your favorite adaptation of Sherlock Holmes?
My favourite has to be the original, as created by ACD. I like the Granada version and sometimes use parts of BBC Sherlock, although I abandoned the main story part way through. And of course, there's my own adaptation, involving Ferret, Mouselet, Aemelia Vole, Ocelot, Sloth and Poley the Moley.

10 Jan: Houseplant Appreciation Day: What kind of houseplants do you have in your home?
We have a large umbrella plant, which lives on the sideboard and is aiming for the ceiling.

Agree 100% on ACD Holmes being the best! (Although I also really love the Granada series.) Also, that houseplant is both awesome and intimidating. It looks like it's trying to take over your house lol. As someone who can never get a houseplant to survive its first week in my home, I'm very impressed.

I'm delighted we share that opinion. The umbrella plant really would take over the house if it could - my table, where my laptop sits, is just next to it and there are times when I think it's heading my way!

Oooh, I love the Three Questions idea—that, and the questions themselves! I am looking for ideas to keep my journal updated and that seems pretty neat.

I get the introvert thing: when around people I talk a lot, and I’m also somewhat confident in public speaking, both in formal and informal events, but it takes a lot of energy out of me even if I’m comfortable with it (acquired skills…)

Your umbrella plant really is almost at the ceiling’s level, wow!

I was trying to work out how best to respond to the questions, so I was pleased when I decided that this would be a good way to add some posts and choose the questions I like best.

Yes, that's exactly how I feel.

It would have touched the ceiling if it hadn't been pruned!

That plant is impressive. My grandmother was fond of plants, and had several in her home, but none of her "table plants" got that big. She's living the life :D

(ACD ftw! Although I love the Granada version and the Russian films. But they wouldn't exist without the original!)

Ohhhh, I love that each question is about the day being celebrated--just as much as I love that if you look hard enough, every day has a celebration tied to it. ♥
