smallhobbitThe broom cupboard 'verse dates back to 2014, when scfrankles and I wrote a fic which started with 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' but grew as we took it in turns to add to the story. The premise (which may have begun earlier) was that Watson and Lestrade were meeting in Mrs Hudson's broom cupboard and a bit later that Holmes and Hopkins were doing the same. It begins with Watson's Diary and subsequent ficlets are included in Tales from the Broom Cupboard

“I have just the thing for them,” Mrs Hudson replied, taking a jar off the shelf.
“Pepper?” Millie asked. “I’ve never heard of pepper being used on mice before.”
“You’ll see. I think it will work very well.”
Mrs Hudson went to her broom cupboard, poured pepper along the bottom of the cupboard door, and then waved a towel to blow the pepper underneath the door.
It wasn’t long before there was some very loud sneezing from inside the cupboard. Mrs Hudson gave a satisfied smirk.
