Fandom 50 (29): Sleeping Beauty - Leo

Leo is the 'true love' destined to give Aurora the kiss which will wake her up.  How is he supposed to live 100 years while she sleeps?  Count Lilac has the solution and bites Leo on the neck.

Leo was the king’s gamekeeper, helping out in the garden as necessary.  He had known Aurora all his life, and they had enjoyed exploring the woodland surrounding the palace together.  In the last year they had fallen in love, but they had kept the knowledge to themselves, Leo, at least, knowing how impossible it was.  Aurora, however, had been determined that there would be a way they could marry, and Leo, despite himself, had been swept along by her enthusiasm.  But now that the time had come for her to choose between suitors, Leo couldn’t see how it could work.

I never thought about someone outside the sleeping court needing to live long enough to break the curse.

Count Lilac has the solution and bites Leo on the neck. I love this phrasing. It's almost a prompt, CHARACTER A has the solution and bites B on the neck :D

Oh, definitely! So much more dramatic. This version depends on a kiss from the true love - as opposed to some random stranger.
