Prinknash Abbey

Yesterday was a sunny day, so we decided to visit Prinknash Abbey, which is not far from us. It's somewhere I've thought of going for some time, but we finally got around to it. After our lunch of carrot and coriander soup and cheese toasties we went for a walk in the gardens.
Being early March, the trees are not yet in leaf:

But the early flowers were out:

The fish were happily swimming in their pond (which is netted off)

The hives too, are behind mesh, although some bees had just started to fly. I bought some honey from the shop.

And there were plenty of flowers in the grounds
