Father's Day went quite well ...
Jun. 25th, 2015 10:58 pm.. which is more than can be said for the rounders.
Last week the Brownies made cards for Father's day: a picture of a shirt, with a jacket on top (complete with button), with a detachable card tie to use as a bookmark, and a real pen in the top pocket. Everyone produced something with little help needed apart from some encouragement and I gave one of the little seven year olds some assistance with the cutting.
This week we took them to the park area close to the hall to play rounders. It was a beautifully sunny evening and so nice to be able to go outside with the girls. It seems amazing we've been in the new hall for nearly a whole year, with so much more freedom to do things. There was plenty of space so we set up the new rounders set and began playing.
Unfortunately even those who claimed they played at school weren't very sure of what they were doing. And the younger ones hadn't got a clue. But overall they enjoyed themselves and it was good to be outside. And strangely the result was a draw when I came to total up the score.
We have one more week to go this term, but don't worry, hopefully my final report of the year will be a good one.
