The final few questions.

What do YOU consider fandom's 'little black dress'?  Is it a coffee shop AU?  Sharing a bed trope?  Bonus, share an example.

I've read a number of responses where sentinel/guide is mentioned, which I can understand.  The coffee shop AU is ubiquitous, I've written some myself, but it, like the sharing the bed trope, isn't really my thing.  But for me, the 'little black dress' which can serve for any fandom is clearly Turning Them Into Rabbits.  I'm not going to share any examples - those who are interested will probably already have read them - but if there's a particular individual/pairing you would like to see as rabbits, let me know in the comments :)

Some long fics used to come with a playlist.  What's a song you were introduced to by something fannish, and what was it inspired by?  Bonus: share a link to the song/music.

I'm not into playlists and rarely use music for any sort of inspiration.  I wrote Mendelssohn's Third Symphony (a BBC Sherlock AU) whilst listening to the music.  But the best example I can give is [personal profile] stonepicnicking_okapi 's 24 Caprices & a Bottle of Claret which introduced me to Pagannini's Caprices.

What is something you do today you wouldn't be doing if not for fandom?

First and foremost chatting with friends from all over the world.  And when our location has managed to collide even chatting in person.  I co-mod a couple of comms.  A number of the books I've read have been because of fandom, suggestions by either friends or general comm members.  The crafts I've taken up have been suggestions from fandom friends, and I've been to places they've suggested.  And I've been to the Reichenbach Falls with a group of Sherlock Holmes fans.  I think it's fairly safe to say I wouldn't be me if it wasn't for fandom.
