The Friday Five: Goals and Bucket List
Nov. 10th, 2023 03:29 pm1. What is on your bucket list that you want to do in the next ten years?
There are places in Europe I'd like to visit: Ghent, Prague in particular, maybe a trip down the Danube, various places in Germany...
2. What bucket list items have you completed and enjoyed?
I've been to Vienna and Budapest and Florence and Barcelona, all wonderful cities
3. What bucket list items did you accomplish but they weren't as great as you hoped or expected?
I did a battlefields tour by myself (normally I go with The Daughter) which worked really well. It was the war poets, and by the end I felt I'd seen all I wanted to see, and didn't come back with as much of a buzz as previously.
4. What short term goal(s) are you currently working on?
My three goals for this year (May to April):
a) Complete all FutureLearn courses on my wish list - there are only four left and I'm partway through one. The others aren't currently available.
b) To reduce the number of Leger Tours on my wish list - I began with four tours, one of which I've done, and we're booked on two more for next year (one different and one which combines two on the wish list), leaving only one tour outstanding (at the moment!)
c) To do something slightly different each month - August I was involved in the church holiday club; September I went away by myself; October we went to Scotland by train and were away for longer than usual. This month probably different things for the charity I volunteer for.
5. What middle term goal(s) do you have, and are you working on them?
I'm not sure I have any middle term goals. If you were to ask me where I saw myself in five years' time I'd have to say I've no idea; things may be the same as they are now, some things may well be different. Getting older means no longer having aims for what I'll do in ten or twenty years time, if there's anything I really want to do then I need to do it now (by which I include next year).
