Firstly, I finished two more FutureLearn courses: Music Psychology: Why does 'Bohemian Rhapsody' feel so good? (Griffith University - Brisbane, Australia).  I like Bohemian Rhapsody, and sing along loudly to it in the car, air guitaring at traffic lights.  However, the psychology failed to impress since the impression given was we like music because we can predict how it's going to go, but BR breaks those predictions, which is why we like it, because it's unpredictable.  Also, the lecturers were baseing their thoughts on first hearing it in the film Wayne's World, and saying 'of course, if you'd heard it when it first came out, you would have had a different experience'.  I bought the album A Night at the Opera, which featured BR, when it first came out.

I also completed Flexagons and the Math Behind Twisted Paper (Weizmann Institute of Science).  I enjoyed the initial stages and making the basic flexagons (pdfs to print out were provided) although I did get rather sticky glueing the two sides together.  But it became too complicated and theoretical for me.  But the idea proved useful for a ficlet I've just written for [community profile] fan_flashworks

Meanwhile, my cross stitch continues apace:

To the point where I was able to say I was one-quarter of the way through:

So pretty! I haven't cross-stitched in weeks...

We used to sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody on the bus to school whenever it came on the radio =D
