Continuing Activities - Month Three
Jul. 23rd, 2019 04:13 pmI've taken two FutureLearn courses over the past month. Firstly An ABC for Enjoying Argentine Literature by Cordoba University, which looked at work by Maria Teresa Andruetta, Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortazar. It was very interesting - I knew nothing about Argentine history or culture, so I felt I learned something. I made a point of contributing to the discussion points and really considering the extracts which were included. The course certainly provided some context for the authors, and next time I come across them I feel I will have a slightly better grasp of them. I'd definitely recommend the course as an introduction to the subject.
I also took Maths Puzzles by the Weixmann Institute of Science. I like number puzzles and working things out, as for example codes. I didn't really learn anything new, but it was a fun way to stretch the brain.
