Ending the Term on a Loud Noise
Dec. 13th, 2019 11:06 amLast week we ran another catch up week, so that those who had missed out on earning their Feel Good Badge were able to finish all five clauses. The Brownies then joined the others in making Christmas cards, with a table full of craft material to select items from. We awarded five more Feel Good badges, as well as three more Brownies Be Well badges, which was a great way to end the term.
This week, instead of having a party we went to Cattle Country. They have a huge barn which holds massive slides, areas to climb around and two ball pits. We went with the Brownie pack that Doodles used to lead, so there were about 40 Brownies, all rushing around and making a noise. They had a great time, with no complaints and plenty to keep them occupied for nearly two hours.
Doodles held two enrolments - one going down a slide, one in the ball pit, and at the end of the evening we flew one of our Brownies up to Guides - she came down the slide, through an archway created by the Brownies and into the arms of two Guides.
This term has gone well, and I'm glad I continued - this time last year I was still unsure about it. The girls continue to enjoy coming and although we have a few leaving the waiting list is as long as ever. We had one Brownie leave because she found our pack rather overwhelming, but she's transferred to a smaller pack, which is fine - twenty plus Brownies in a sports pavilion is never going to be quiet. Two girls have moved house, one as I said is going to Guides and the last one is going to Scouts, and she'd been doing Brownies and Cubs, so clearly enjoyed being with us.
