Writing - December 2023

smallhobbitThis month I've managed 10.5K words, with a few days left, although whether I'll get any more done I'm not too sure. However, that brings me up to 132.5K for the year which is very pleasing.

holmestice entry, which was a total change from what I usually write, didn't prove very popular. It's BBC Sherlock Femlock with a minor casefic, so probably didn't satisfy anyone. However, it was an interesting challenge. Death at the Gallery
allbingo ran an amnesty month, and I used a 2021 winter prompts bingo to inspire the Marylebone Monthly Illustrated Christmas Supplement which was great fun to write.
My Yuletide fic has been well received - I'll post the link when reveals are made on January 1st. Miss Marple A Christmas Mystery
Most of The Latest Twelve Days of Christmas have been written, and the first three posted. All my favourite characters will be there.
As for my goal for 2024. This year I set 115k and I think next year I shall aim for 115K-120K. I'd rather write 10K more than I planned and feel happy than write 10K less and be disappointed.

Date: 2023-12-28 08:59 pm (UTC)That is an amazing amount of words! You've basically written two novels, which is really going for it. Also I like the sound of that Sherlock fic. One of the best things about Holmes is the case of the day.
