Thank Goodness it's the End of the Year
Jul. 12th, 2019 10:16 amI am extremely grateful. With Doodles continued unavoidable absence I have led the last five weeks. And to make sure everything was up to date, and I could award badges, I've also been battling the girlguiding website, which is not the most intuitive, or logical system.
In order to earn the Theme badge, a Brownie has to have completed the five challenges for their skills builder, one of three specificied interest badges (done at home) and 4 hours of unit meeting activities. Inevitably different girls miss different parts, so last week we ran a catch up week. As I said to Flamingo (leader-in-training) 6 tables, 24 Brownies, what could possibly go wrong?
( final two weeks )
Some interest badges, and for those where we hadn't had time to order the badges, a splendid certificate Flamingo had made, and lastly eight theme award badges, which recognise the hard work on the part of the brownies (and the leaders!)

And then finally we flew two of our Brownies up to Guides, watched by their parents. This is not something I've done before, but some of the girls had seen it happen at pack holiday, so we based the event on their description. How accurate it was we'll never know, but our two leavers were happy, which is all that matters.
